Job Description

HGV Technician 
Location: Gateshead
Typical Earnings: Circa £39,000 per annum + Overtime 
38 Hours Per Week | 5 Days Over 7
 
What you’ll do as HGV Technician / PSV Technician 
As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for service through effective maintenance and repair activities.
Your duties will include:

Carrying out scheduled maintenance and vehicle servicing.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
Completing vehicle inspections and safety checks.
Supporting MOT and annual test preparation activities.
Investigating and rectifying vehicle defects.
Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults and improve vehicle reliability.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job documentation.
Working to high standards of health, safety and workmanship. 
Requirements of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician 

A recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV or equivalent.
Previous experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, HGVs or fleet vehicles.
Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
A proactive approach to problem solving.
