HGV / PSV Technician
Location: Sunderland 
 Salary: Typical Earnings Circa £39,000 per annum
 Hours: 38 hours per week | 5 Days Over 7

We are recruiting for skilled HGV Technician / PSV Technician to join a well-established bus operator. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced vehicle technicians looking for a stable role, competitive pay, ongoing training, and long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician

Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
Complete safety inspections in line with DVSA and company standards.
Prepare vehicles for MOT and annual test inspections.
Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns when required.
Complete all workshop documentation accurately.
Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards.
Work effectively within a team to maximise fleet availability. 
Requirements of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician

Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV, Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience maintaining HGVs, PSVs, buses, coaches, trucks, or commercial vehicles.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Good understanding of vehicle electrics, braking, and mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
