HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic – Kensington

Location: Kensington
Salary: £45,300 – £53,400 per annum DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 | 45 hours per week
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join a well-established organisation based in Kensington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled commercial vehicle technician looking for a Monday-to-Friday position with no regular weekend working, a competitive salary and the opportunity to work on a specialist fleet.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing commercial vehicles and associated mounted equipment.

Your duties will include:

  * Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults

  * Carrying out servicing and repairs on HGVs and mounted equipment

  * Preparing vehicles for MOT and maintaining them to VOSA/DVSA standards

  * Completing body and chassis repairs to the required standards

  * Reading and working from electrical and hydraulic diagrams

  * Maintaining accurate job cards, service records and repair information

  * Attending customer sites and working independently when required

  * Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

  * Following health & safety procedures and completing risk assessments

  * Undertaking relevant training and development

To be considered for this HGV Technician position, you should have:

  * NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance or equivalent

  * Previous experience servicing and repairing HGVs/commercial vehicles

  * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  * Knowledge of vehicle electronics, hydraulics and wiring diagrams

  * Ability to work independently and manage your workload

  * Good communication and customer service skills

  * Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required

Desirable but not essential:

  * HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence

  * IRTEC qualification

  * Electric vehicle experience
