Job Description

HGV Technician role for a skilled and motivated technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop, maintaining and repairing one of the UK’s largest and most varied rental fleets. 
 
 Must have the right to work in the UK. A full UK driving licence is required, and a Class C or CE licence would be highly advantageous.
 
 Location: Sheffield
 Pay / salary: Up to £42,000 Basic + 1.5k sign on bonus + Overtime at 1.25x Pay (Up to £22.50ph) DOE & Qualifications
 Job type: Permanent / full-time role
 Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekend shifts, with overtime opportunities available, 42.5 hours per week

A major commercial vehicle rental and mobility business operating a large and diverse UK fleet, including HGVs, LCVs, vans, refrigerated vehicles, electric vehicles and specialist vehicles. The business supports commercial customers across the UK and Ireland, with workshop and mobile maintenance teams focused on vehicle uptime, safety, customer service and technician development.

 Skills and experience
 •    Relevant HGV, heavy vehicle or commercial vehicle maintenance qualification, or proven workshop experience in a similar role
 •    Experience with service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles
 •    Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV workshop duties

Job Responsibilities for the HGV Technician role

Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems
Supporting breakdown, roadside or rota requirements where applicable and maintaining high levels of customer service
