Commercial Vehicle Fleet Maintenance Company

Up to £23ph depending on experience
Overtime paid at time and a half
Permanent Position
Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
One Saturday in two, 05:00–13:00

JOB DESCRIPTION

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance business based in Erith.

You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality, safe and compliant maintenance and repair work on a varied fleet of heavy commercial vehicles and trailers.

This is a permanent position offering regular daytime hours, additional overtime opportunities and access to ongoing technical and manufacturer training.

Your responsibilities will include:

  * Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers and associated commercial vehicles

  * Completing routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance

  * Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

  * Identifying worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards

  * Working with the wider workshop team to plan and complete vehicle repairs

  * Completing all relevant job cards, maintenance records and warranty documentation

  * Keeping the workshop, tools and equipment clean, safe and organised

  * Providing roadside or off-site repair support when required

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  * City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI qualification or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

  * Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs or other heavy commercial vehicles

  * A strong understanding of DVSA inspection and maintenance standards

  * The ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults

  * A full UK driving licence

  * Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills

Experience working with trailers, tail lifts, LOLER equipment or mixed commercial vehicle fleets would be advantageous.
