OA Are Recruiting: HGV Workshop Technician – Coventry (Nights)
Pay: £24.00 per hour | Overtime: £30.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 20:00–06:00 (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
OA are currently recruiting experienced HGV Workshop Technicians to join our Coventry-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, both within our well-equipped workshop and on the road using our mobile service vans.
As a Workshop Technician, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties including maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs. You'll be part of a proactive team ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance in line with DVSA guidelines.
Complete engine and vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, and mechanical repairs.
Diagnose and rectify faults using advanced diagnostic tools and systems.
Accurately complete job cards and service documentation using R2C.
Attend roadside and field breakdowns as needed, including occasional out-of-hours support.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience working with HGVs in a maintenance and repair capacity.
Solid understanding of DVSA standards for roadworthiness.
NVQ Level 3 in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent) or time-served experience.
Skilled in fault diagnosis, mechanical repairs, and MOT preparation.
Desirable (Training Provided if Needed):
IRTEC accreditation
HGV Class C+E Licence
Experience with car transporters
Familiarity with LOLER testing
Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical lifting systems
Experience using R2C workshop systems
