Job Description
HGV Technician
* Full Time/Permanent
* Salary based on a 40-hour week with £40.00 bonus if 40 hours attended.
* £18.00 to £22.00 per hour dependent on experience.
* Hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 – 17:30 with overtime available.
* 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
* Family run garage
Responsibilities of an HGV Technician:
* In the role of HGV Technician, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Reporting to the Workshop Manage
* Servicing
* Maintaining and fixing various faults and mechanical issues
* Parts ordering and stock taking
* Dealing with electrical faults in units
* Maintaining and fixing driving and parking sensors
* Required to work on HGV Units and Trailers (occasionally)
* Complete administrative tasks and reports as requested
* Fixing Suzie lines and connections
* Diagnostic work
* Brakes checks and changes
* Suspension work
* MOT Prep & Post MOT repairs
* Must be capable of stripping body parts and repairing/replacing them
Requirements of HGV Technician
* Have a Level 2 or 3 qualification with Heavy Good Vehicles but not essential. Times served with 8+ years experience accepted
* Full UK driving licence (HGV Licence beneficial but not essential)
* Experience in fault diagnostic equipment, e.g. Tech tool, STAR and JAL and including trailer systems
* Must have your own hand tools to bring with youBefore You Apply
