Salary: £47,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift
Job Description We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team at a well-established commercial vehicle workshop based in Reading. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive £47,000 annual salary and a Monday to Friday day shift, providing excellent work-life balance.
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of a range of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they meet DVSA standards and are roadworthy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs to manufacturer and legal standards.
Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Conduct MOT preparations, inspections, and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations.
Complete service documentation and job cards accurately and timely.
Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and adhere to health and safety procedures.Requirements
Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (essential).
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician / Mechanic.
Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and fault-finding techniques.
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Benefits
