Our client is a well-established and respected business that has a fleet of 30+ Trucks & Trailers from 12 & 24 Tonne Rigids to a range of 40+ Tonne Artics. Due to the company experiencing significant growth, our client is excited to expand their HGV Technician team with multiple roles available. They are open to applicants who are fully skilled HGV Technicians or Mechanics/Technicians who are keen to learn their way up and start off within Trailer maintenance (you will be joining a solid team of circa 15 technicians so there will be plenty of support available.
Shift rotation
Week – 1
* Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm
Week – 2
* Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Week – 3
* Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm
Skills and Knowledge needed for this HGV Technician role:
* Capability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Actively seek solutions to problems
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Good verbal communication skills
* Excellent customer care skills
* Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
* Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
* Experience / skills that will be regarded as ideal are: -
Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
* Previous experience ideal however not essential
* Current clean driving licence
Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:
* Maintaining vehicles and trailers to road worthy conditions
* Support the business with various projects
* Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
* Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
* Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses
* Provide support to both parts & administration teams when required
* Trailer running gear experience
* SAF/BPW experience

* Comply with all policies and procedures as they relate to the health and safety at work of yourself and others
* Take responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing and that of others whilst at work
* Cooperate fully to help promote and achieve excellence in health and safety culture and behaviours
