Job Description
HGV Vehicle Technician
Beverley
£16.38 per hour
37 hour Week
Key Responsibilities:
Organise and maintain accurate administration in line with Traffic Commissioner requirements
Ensure vehicle and operator compliance through effective systems
Conduct repairs and maintenance on a range of Authority vehicles
Utilise MOT and Taxi Testing equipment, ensuring it is correctly adjusted and maintained
Oversee quality control for MOT inspections
Use software tools (e.g., Transform, Tracker) to monitor vehicle history, repairs, and locations
Manage tachograph systems and compliance procedures, including digital download monitoring
Maintain data security and compliance with relevant guidelines
Assist with tendering and contract management for vehicle maintenance services
Provide technical advice and liaise with external bodies to ensure compliance with legislation
Supervise junior staff and contractors to deliver work within financial and safety guidelines
Ensure all tasks are performed safely, sustainably, and effectivelyAbout You:
NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in motor vehicle-related subjects
Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair (mechanical and electrical)
Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations
Skilled in diagnostic software and analytical fault-finding
Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
Able to prioritise workload and adapt to changing demands
Team player with the ability to work independently
Honest, trustworthy, and reliable
Willing to work shifts and hold a valid driving licence
Ability to carry out duties with or without adaptationsDesirable Qualifications & Skills:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in motor vehicle subjects
Experience with both light and heavy vehicles
Knowledge of Operator Licence requirements
Advanced diagnostic equipment skills
IOSH Managing/Working Safely qualification
LGV Category C licence
Driver CPC qualification
MOT Nominated Tester (classes 4, 5, and 7)
Availability for out-of-hours work if requiredBefore You Apply
