HGV Technician
Location: Preston
Salary: £46,026
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm
Hours: 48 hours per week, no contractual weekends
Are you an experienced HGV Technician fed up with working weekends and having no work life balance? This opportunity would be working within a busy, professional workshop within a friendly, close-knit team. This role is ideal for experienced HGV technicians individuals looking to develop their career working on Volvo trucks and trailers.
Pay & Benefits:
* Salary £46,026
* Overtime available at £24.50/hr
* Cycle to work scheme
* 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
* Training opportunities including IRTEC, Class 1, BPW, diagnostic training, and Volvo manufacturer training
* Friendly, supportive team of 5 technicians
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs (Volvo) and trailers
* Specialize in trailer work: single, double, tankers, and skellys (around 80% of the workload)
* Diagnose faults using workshop tools and manufacturer guidelines
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
* Work collaboratively with fellow HGV technicians in a 3-bay workshop environment
Requirements:
* Level 3 HGV qualification preferred, or time-served HGV technicians considered
* Experience with trailers and Volvo trucks highly desirable
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-focused attitude
