HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician – Nights (Middleton)
Earn up to £25.12 per hour on rotating night shifts in a busy Middleton workshop. Overtime paid at 1.5x, enhanced night rate, and long-term career growth in a stable, supportive team.

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy and well-equipped workshop in Middleton. Working rotating night shifts, you’ll benefit from strong pay, consistent hours, and ongoing support and training from a respected commercial vehicle operation.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Complete routine servicing, maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs and trailers
Diagnose and repair faults using modern diagnostic equipment
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards
Record all work accurately and complete service documentation
Work independently to maintain efficiency and safety during night shifts
Coordinate with parts staff to ensure timely job completion
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Essential
Experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or similar
Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently on night shift
Desirable
HGV Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence
IRTEC certification
Experience in a dealership or fleet maintenance environment
