HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic –
Salary: £48,453 per year
Location: Peterborough
Hours: 4 on 4 off, Night Shift
Contract: Permanent
We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our fleet maintenance unit in Peterborough. Working in a modern well equipped workshop with 4 bays, an ATF lane, and 2 full-length pits, you’ll be carrying out a wide range of servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, tractor units, rigids, and tail lifts.
This is a permanent 4 on 4 off night shift position, offering excellent pay, stability, and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities:
* Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers, tractor units, rigids, and tail lifts
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
* Ensure all vehicles and trailers meet safety and compliance standards
* Complete accurate records, job cards, and maintenance documentation
* Work efficiently within a professional fleet workshop environment
* Adhere to all health & safety policies and workshop procedures
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Technician
* Strong knowledge of HGV and trailer systems, including tail lifts
* Full UK driving licence (HGV licence an advantage but not essential)
* Ability to work effectively on nights within a busy fleet environment
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable workmanship
