HGV Technician (NIGHTS)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
£22ph to £25ph basic
Overview
A well-established fleet maintenance provider in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their growing team. This role offers a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, strong benefits package, and the opportunity to work on a mix of in-house and external commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
*
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
*
Prepare vehicles for MOT in line with DVSA standards
*
Respond to unplanned defects and driver-reported issues
*
Conduct brake testing and minor body repairs
*
Provide mobile repairs or servicing via company service van when required
*
Accurately complete all associated paperwork (using Blue Crystal system)
*
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies
Ideal Candidate Profile
*
Relevant qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, IRTEC accreditation)
*
Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance and diagnostics
*
HGV Category C or C+E licence (preferred)
*
Experience with double-deck trailers and tail lifts (desirable but not essential)
*
Ability to conduct PMI inspections and MOT preparation
*
Able to work independently and within a team environment
*
Strong communication and organisational skills
