HGV Depot Manager
Location: Market Weighton
Salary: Up to £60,000 per year
Hours: Monday–Friday (days), occasional Saturdays
We are seeking a hands-on HGV Depot Manager to oversee the smooth running of a busy depot, this includes managang around 10 Technicians. This is a great opportunity for a leader who thrives on organisation, compliance, and motivating a team.
Key Responsibilities as a Depot Manager:
* Organise daily workshop throughput, assign jobs to mechanics, set and adjust priorities throughout the day.
* Discuss repairs with mechanics and gain authorisation from customers.
* Allocate mechanics to assist with MOT lane throughput as required.
* Explain complex repairs to customers while maintaining a strong MOT pass rate.
* Take control of Health & Safety management: equipment inspections, calibrations, repairs, PPE records, fire alarm tests, legionella monitoring, and more.
* Office-based role handling customer enquiries and bookings.
* Create and manage job cards in the workshop booking system.
* Update system with carry-over work and coordinate with the Workshop Controller on ad-hoc repairs or breakdowns.
* Process parts invoices and progress job cards to invoicing..
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in depot, fleet, or workshop management.
* Strong knowledge of O-Licence compliance, DVSA regulations,
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Commercially minded with a hands-on approach to both workshop and depot operations.
