Job Title: HGV/PSV Workshop Manager
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £60,000+ per annum
My client who is part of the largest public transport operator in the UK, is looking to employ a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy commercial vehicle workshop? They’re looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to take charge of a thriving operation — 80% off the tools and 20% on the tools to support the team when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing as HGV Workshop Manager:
Overseeing the daily running of the workshop to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe operation
Leading, supporting, and developing a team of skilled technicians and apprentices
Planning, prioritising, and allocating work to maximise productivity and minimise downtime
Ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards, including inspection schedules and quality checks
Liaising with parts, service, and operations teams to maintain strong communication across the business
Supporting with diagnostics, inspections, and repairs as required (minimal hands-on)What We’re Looking For in the HGV Workshop Manager:
Proven experience in a similar leadership role within an HGV/PSV workshop environment
Strong technical background and up-to-date knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance
Excellent organisational, communication, and people-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions
