About the Role:
Simply Education is recruiting a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Ely. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support and guidance.
As an HLTA, you will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education, and you may be required to lead lessons, manage small groups, and provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support learning across the curriculum, both individually and in small groups.
Lead classroom activities and lessons in the absence of the teacher.
Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students' needs.
Promote positive behaviour, emotional development, and social skills.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and senior staff.
Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student development.Essential Requirements:
HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Experience leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Strong communication and organisational skills.Desirable:
Previous experience working in SEMH or special educational needs settings.
Ability to develop creative, engaging, and differentiated learning activities.Safeguarding Statement:
