Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Chorley Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: October 2025
Are you an experienced HLTA looking for your next rewarding opportunity?
We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Chorley seeking a confident and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can take initiative, deliver engaging lessons in the teacher’s absence, and provide targeted small-group and 1:1 support.
Role Responsibilities
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Lead small-group interventions in core subjects (English, Maths, Science).
Support pupils with additional learning needs to help them reach their potential.
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to track and monitor progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Requirements
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (Level 4+).
Previous experience working in a secondary or primary school.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
A passion for helping young people achieve and succeed.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
