Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Northampton

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
 Start Date: January 2026
 Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
 Salary: £100 - £120 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ready to make a real difference in the classroom?

Tradewind is partnering with a range of outstanding secondary schools across Northampton, seeking confident and dedicated HLTAs to support teaching and learning from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to take a more active role in the classroom, working closely with teachers and pupils to raise achievement and deliver tailored support.

Whether you're an experienced HLTA or a Teaching Assistant with the right skills and ambition to progress, we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher

Support small groups and individual students to boost engagement and learning outcomes

Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and assessment where appropriate

Provide targeted intervention for pupils requiring additional support

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment

What We're Looking For:

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a UK school setting

Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies

Confidence leading whole-class learning and managing behaviour

Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering high standards of education and care
