Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full-time supply basis for the Autumn Term at a small specialist school in Houghton-le-Spring (DH4).

Role Details

Position: HLTA
Location: Houghton-le-Spring (DH4)
Duration: Full Autumn Term
Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Start Date: September

The role will involve working within a class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Although the pupils are secondary age (12–13 years old), they are working at an EYFS and Key Stage 1 level, making previous experience within primary or early years settings highly beneficial.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience.
Have experience working with pupils with autism and additional needs.
Be confident delivering lessons and leading small groups.
Be patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships.
Have experience within EYFS and/or KS1 settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
