Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Graduate Preferred) Location: Westminster, London Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only (39 weeks per year) Salary: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner by agreement) Inspire, Support and Make a Difference We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and inclusive school community in the London Borough of Westminster. Working closely with teachers and senior leaders, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning experiences, supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development, and leading learning across a range of year groups. The Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time and short-term absences. Work alongside class teachers to plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities. Provide targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to accelerate progress. Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) where appropriate. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Support wider school activities, educational visits and enrichment opportunities. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Holds a degree (essential) and has a strong academic background. Has experience working with children or young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work setting. Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills. Is confident leading learning and managing groups of pupils. Demonstrates initiative, resilience and a positive attitude. Has high expectations of all pupils and believes every child can succeed. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This Role Would Suit: Graduates considering teacher training or a career in education.
