Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary School | Uxbridge | September 2025 Start
Are you an experienced HLTA looking for a rewarding new opportunity in a supportive secondary school?
Do you have the skills and confidence to lead learning activities, deliver targeted interventions, and support students across a range of subjects?
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded and inclusive secondary school in Uxbridge that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people succeed both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As a HLTA, you will:
Deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions across subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
Plan and lead learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
Provide targeted support to students, including those with additional learning needs (SEN, EAL, or low prior attainment).
Support class teachers in managing behaviour, engagement, and learning outcomes.
Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences and provide cover when needed.
Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to staff.
What We're Looking For:
HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level in a secondary school.
A strong understanding of how to support learners of different abilities.
Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
Confident classroom presence and ability to lead small groups or whole classes.
A proactive and flexible approach, with strong organisation and initiative.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above); further qualifications are desirable.
