Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Secondary School – Leyland Location: Leyland Start Date: 3rd November 2025 Contract: Temporary to Permanent Setting: Secondary School Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications Are you an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new challenge? Do you want to make a lasting impact in a vibrant secondary school setting? We are working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Leyland who are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their team from 3rd November 2025. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, ideal for someone looking to secure a long-term position in a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Delivering planned learning activities across a range of subjects, under the guidance of teaching staff Supporting individual and small groups of students, including those with additional needs Contributing to planning and assessment in collaboration with teachers Covering classes in the absence of the teacher when required Supporting the wider school community and promoting a positive learning environment Requirements: HLTA qualification (or equivalent) Experience working in a secondary school setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4 A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning What the School Offers: A supportive and inclusive team environment Opportunities for professional development Well-behaved students and a positive school ethos The potential for a permanent contract following a successful temporary period How to Apply: If you're ready to inspire and support the next generation and would like to join a thriving school in Leyland, we want to hear from you!
