Highways Maintenance Supervisor (Junior)
To 32k (depending on experience)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways operative or team leader to progress into a supervisory role within a respected organisation delivering maintenance and environmental services across North Somerset.
Working within the Highways Maintenance team, you will support and assist the senior supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all operational services — from surface and drainage repairs to emergency response and winter maintenance.
What You’ll Be Doing as the Highways Maintenance Supervisor (Junior)
* Supervising and supporting operational teams across highways maintenance activities
* Monitoring and promoting health, safety and environmental compliance on site
* Conducting audits and toolbox talks to ensure best practice
* Liaising with fleet, plant, and operations teams regarding vehicles and equipment
* Supporting the senior supervisor to achieve productivity and safety targets
* Assisting with performance monitoring, training and staff development
* Preparing job packs, reports, and utility drawings as required
* Participating in winter maintenance and emergency response activities on a rota basis
What We’re Looking For in the Highways Maintenance Supervisor (Junior)
* Highways or civil engineering maintenance experience (essential)
* Sound knowledge of Health & Safety, CDM, and traffic management
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Ability to plan, monitor and allocate workloads effectively
* Computer literacy with MS Office and app-based reporting tools
* Full UK driving licence
* SSSTS / NRSWA accreditation desirable (or willingness to work towards)
