Job Overview:
As a Planner within the Highways Project Delivery team, you will play a key role in the planning and coordination of infrastructure projects, particularly in the highway sector. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your role will also include business management activities to help streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. A collaborative approach to working with project teams and stakeholders is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
·Planning & Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain project schedules for highway and infrastructure projects. Ensure that all timelines and milestones are met.
·Project Controls: Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation plans. Provide accurate reporting on project status, timelines, and resource utilization.
·Business Management: Support the business in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation. Assist with performance reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
·Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across teams. Promote a culture of teamwork and inclusivity.
·Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and all requirements are clearly understood.
·Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, financial health, and risks to senior management. Produce detailed reports that support decision-making processes.
·Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements in project controls, reporting, and business management processes to enhance project delivery.
Essential Skills and Experience:
·Proven experience as a Planner in the infrastructure or highways sector.
·Strong project controls knowledge, including experience in planning, scheduling, and cost management.
·A solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and business management.
·Experience using project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
·Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with people at all levels.
·Strong organizational and time-management skills.
·Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
·A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
Desirable Skills:
·Experience specifically in highway infrastructure projects.
·Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
·A background in business management or finance-related functions.
