Highways Streetworks Coordinator – South West London – £29.78/hr (Umbrella)
Interim Contract | Local Authority
A South West London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Highways/Streetworks Coordinator to support the management of works on the public highway under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act (TMA). You will ensure coordination and compliance of utility and development-related works across Richmond and Wandsworth boroughs, helping to minimise disruption to the road network.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and coordinate permit applications, ensuring compliance with NRSWA, TMA, and borough permit schemes.
Monitor and inspect works sites for safety, compliance (Red Book/SORH), and traffic impact.
Work closely with utilities, contractors, and stakeholders to manage planned network activities and conflicts.
Support enforcement actions, including Fixed Penalty Notices.
Liaise with residents, councillors, TfL, and other stakeholders, providing updates and managing enquiries.
Represent the Council at coordination and site meetings.
Assess and approve Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs).
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, and associated codes of practice.
Experience inspecting works on highways for compliance and safety.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, permit assessment, and conflict resolution.
New Roads and Street Works qualification (essential).
