CAD Technician - Highway Design
Location: Hampshire (Near Farnborough)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 | Permanent, Full-time
I'm working with a well-established transport and highways consultancy looking for a CAD Technician to join their design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a wide range of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK, including new roads, streetscape improvements, and highway schemes.
The Role:
As a CAD Technician, you'll assist in producing highway designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications to local and national standards. You'll support the delivery of projects from feasibility and design through to construction, liaising with utility providers, Local Highway Authorities, and other stakeholders. You'll also help prepare reports, cost estimates, schedules, and other technical documentation, working closely with senior engineers to support programme and financial reporting.
About You:
Demonstrable experience in highway design within a consultancy environment
Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately with numbers and spreadsheets
Confident written and verbal communication skills, with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, professional, and able to manage your own workload effectively
Hold a valid UK driving licence
Technical Skills:
Proficient in AutoCAD for highways design
Working knowledge of ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
Advanced use of Microsoft Office
