History ECT   Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History ECT ready to begin your teaching journey in a supportive and high-performing secondary school?   Key Details Job Title: History ECT Pay: Main Pay Scale 1 – £31,650 per annum Duration: Permanent – September 2025 start School Type & Location: Secondary School, Ward of Erdington Key Highlight: 73% GCSE (Grades 9–4) History pass rate in 2024  The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a History ECT to join a committed Humanities faculty with a proven track record of student success. The successful candidate will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that ignite curiosity about the past. As your experience develops, there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching and enrichment activities such as history clubs and school trips.   The Candidate The school is seeking an enthusiastic and driven History ECT who is eager to grow and contribute within a collaborative department. You should have: A degree in History or a closely related subject • QTS or be on track to achieve it by September 2025 • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for historical inquiry • The ability to inspire students through engaging lesson delivery • A proactive and reflective attitude towards professional development   The School Situated in the Ward of Erdington, this forward-thinking secondary school is committed to academic excellence and pastoral care. ECF-based training modules: Covering core areas such as pedagogy, behaviour management, curriculum design, assessment, and professional conduct. Assigned mentor: A dedicated and experienced teacher providing regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support. Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from your mentor and school leadership. Personalised development plan: Tailored support based on your strengths and areas for improvement. Professional development opportunities: Access to workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your teaching skills.  This induction programme is continuously monitored and adapted to ensure it meets your individual needs and the school’s expectations.
