About the role – History Teacher

I am working with this secondary school in Newham who are looking for a qualified History teacher starting ASAP. The school are looking for a history teacher to deliver the subject curriculum and to set high expectations with regard to students' engagement and learning. The successful candidate will be required to stimulate pupil interest and involvement in the subject of History to GCSE whilst keeping a record of student achievement. The ideal candidate will also be able to work collaboratively within the department.

This multi-ethnic and multi-cultural, secondary school based in Newham support a total of 814 students aged 11 to 16. With the school newly opened in January 2018, there is continuous growth with a curriculum that suits the needs of each individual with high levels of challenge. The school has a provision for 25 pupils with profound, severe, and multiple learning difficulties which is supported by a specialist PMLD team of teachers and support staff. The school is described as a safe, positive, and family-friendly environment with exceptional facilities for young people to learn and grow. The current headteacher is passionate about supporting all pupils to leave having made excellent progress throughout their time in school.
