Working directly alongside our Technical Manager, as a HIU Senior Engineer you will play a pivotal operational role across major urban regeneration schemes and low-carbon heat networks. You will lead on planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and reactive repairs for a wide range of Heat Interface Units (HIUs). Beyond hands-on site works, you will take ownership of site-based project management, assist with plant room mechanical checks, mentor junior engineers, and participate in a 1-in-4 callout rota to maintain vital heat services.

You are an organized, self-motivated, and positive engineer with a strong foundation in HIU servicing and a desire for continuous career development. Calm, personable, and a strong communicator, you thrive when working autonomously, solving complex issues right first time, and interacting with clients and site teams. You possess an innovative mindset, an eye for health and safety improvements, and a genuine ambition to build a long-term career at the forefront of the green energy transition.

The Role

Servicing & Repairs: Execute HIU maintenance, fault finding, and parts replacement.
On-Call Rota: Cover 1-in-4 standby for emergency heat reinstatement.
Safety & Compliance: Complete safe isolations and root-cause failure reviews.
Project Support: Assist with plant room checks, commissioning, and mentoring.
System Records: Log accurate digital work orders for high first-time fix rates.The Person

Experience: 3+ years as a HIU Service Engineer with strong diagnostic skills.
Certifications: Valid Part P and Part G with basic electrical competency.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with plant rooms, P&IDs, and schematics.
Soft Skills: Strong communicator with a proactive, team-focused approach.
