HIU ENGINEER – £45,000+ + VAN + OVERTIME + EXCELLENT BENEFITS

We are recruiting for an experienced HIU Engineer to join an established and growing building services business covering London and the surrounding areas.

This would suit an experienced HIU Engineer, or a strong Plumbing/Mechanical Engineer with HIU experience, looking for a good package and the opportunity to develop wider mechanical and plant room skills.

The Role

The majority of the work will involve Heat Interface Unit (HIU) servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and remedial works, across residential and commercial sites throughout London.

This is not a role where you will be restricted to HIU work. You will also work alongside experienced mechanical engineers and other trades, developing your knowledge of wider plant room and building services systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  * HIU servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repairs

  * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works

  * Diagnosing heating and hot water faults

  * Heating controls, including S-Plan and Y-Plan systems

  * Plant room inspections and monthly checks

  * Pumps and pump replacements

  * Plate heat exchangers (PHEs)

  * Expansion vessels, valves and associated mechanical equipment

  * General mechanical plant room maintenance

  * Exposure to AC and gas systems

  * Completing electronic service reports using an iPad/tablet

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous HIU experience, with manufacturer-specific HIU training being highly desirable.

Strong Plumbing or Mechanical Engineers with some HIU experience will also be considered, particularly those keen to develop their plant room and wider mechanical knowledge.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  * Previous HIU experience

  * Plumbing or Mechanical qualifications/background

  * Good knowledge of heating and hot water systems

  * Plant room experience

  * Good mechanical fault-finding skills

  * Knowledge of S-Plan/Y-Plan systems

  * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  * Full UK driving licence

  * Good customer-facing skills and a positive attitude

  * Comfortable using an iPad/tablet – full training provided
