Job Description:
Five Education is currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) / Cover Supervisor to work in a range of schools across [insert location]. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and adaptable educator who can deliver pre-planned lessons and support learners across various year groups.
You will be expected to take responsibility for covering classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain engaged in their learning and that behaviour is managed in line with school policies. This role is ideal for those with previous teaching assistant experience, HLTA status, or teaching experience who are looking for a flexible and rewarding role in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
- Support the learning of pupils across a variety of subjects and key stages
- Provide targeted support to groups or individuals when not covering lessons
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to promote the learning and development of all pupils
- Offer pastoral support where necessary and contribute to the wider school community
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or experience in a Cover Supervisor role
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confident delivering lessons across a range of subjects and key stages
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- References to cover the last two years
