Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Secondary School, Tower Hamlets
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
Our vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. About the Role
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4. You will work closely with teachers, provide targeted interventions, deliver small-group and whole-class learning, and help ensure all students-regardless of background or ability-have the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes as directed by teaching staff
Support pupils with a range of needs, ensuring an inclusive learning environment
Assist teachers with planning, classroom management, and assessment
Lead intervention programmes to boost progress and confidence
Build positive, supportive relationships with students, staff, and families
Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Holds HLTA status (or is working towards it)
Has strong experience working in a secondary school setting
Is confident delivering learning independently
Has excellent communication and organisational skills
Is committed, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people
Works well as part of a collaborative and diverse team
