Reeson Education is proud to be working with a forward-thinking special academy in Hampshire to recruit a dedicated HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to support Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) across the whole academy.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HLTA to lead and coordinate meaningful work experience placements and careers-focused learning for students in Year 11 and Post-16.
About the HLTA Role
As a HLTA, you will:
Support the Careers Lead in delivering across the academy
Coordinate work experience placements for Year 11 and Post-16 students
Build and maintain relationships with local employers, colleges, and training providers
Lead vocational profiling and careers guidance interviews
Organise enrichment events such as college visits and destination fairs
Monitor student progress and set meaningful targets
Conduct risk assessments and planning meetings for placements
Promote inclusive practices and support employers in understanding student needs
Maintain resources and contribute to Gatsby benchmark evidence
Track student destinations for up to 5 years post-graduationThis HLTA role is ideal for someone passionate about preparing young people with SEND for life beyond school.
HLTA - Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a HLTA who is:
Adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic about making a difference
Experienced in transition planning and supporting pupils with SEND
Skilled in communication, organisation, and relationship-building
Confident in leading careers-focused lessons and activities
Willing to undertake CEIAG and Job Coaching qualifications if not already held
Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
