Head of Design & Technology – Secondary School near Tewkesbury – September 2025
Permanent, Full-Time Leadership Role
Product Design, Engineering and Textiles
KS3–KS5 + Whole School Innovation Initiatives
An ambitious and inclusive secondary school just outside Tewkesbury is looking for a Head of Design & Technology to lead a dynamic department from September 2025. The role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a growing DT curriculum with a focus on creativity, sustainability, and real-world design applications.
You’ll oversee curriculum planning, manage resources, and inspire a team of specialists while teaching across a range of disciplines.
Key Duties:
*
Lead the DT department including curriculum development and staff mentoring
*
Deliver engaging lessons in Product Design or Engineering from KS3 to A-Level
*
Organise competitions and links with local industries or universities
*
Ensure safe and effective use of workshops, 3D printers, and CAD software
Qualifications:
*
DT/Engineering/Product Design degree, PGCE + QTS
*
Proven record of success in the classroom and ideally leadership
*
Strong understanding of current exam specifications and industry trends
*
Enthusiasm for future tech, materials science, and sustainability in design
