TimePlan Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Poole to recruit an experienced and passionate Head of Science for a September 2025 start.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a dynamic science teacher ready to take the next step in their career - or an established Head of Department looking for a new challenge in a supportive and ambitious school.
Your Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership for the Science Department (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
Drive outstanding teaching and learning across all key stages
Lead and manage a team of dedicated science teachers and technicians
Monitor and improve student progress and departmental outcomes
Contribute to whole-school initiatives and leadership development
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in science
Proven experience teaching science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Previous leadership or departmental responsibility is highly desirable
A clear vision for raising attainment and enthusiasm for STEM education
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
