Job Description

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homeless Prevention & Assessment Officer for a Local Authority Client in Birkenhead. In this role, you will provide vital advice, support and practical solutions to help prevent homelessness and guide individuals and families into safe, sustainable housing. Duties: Provide housing advice and support in line with legislation, helping clients at risk of homelessness to find and maintain suitable accommodation. Work with partners and agencies including landlords, support services and health teams to prevent homelessness and secure sustainable housing solutions. Support clients with complex needs, including safeguarding concerns, financial difficulties, rent arrears, and possession proceedings. Manage cases effectively, from assessments and temporary accommodation placements to preparing evidence for court and keeping accurate records. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience: Experience in homelessness prevention or housing advice, with knowledge of relevant legislation. Proven skills in C, particularly with vulnerable clients. Background in working with complex client groups, including safeguarding and multi-agency support. Experience managing rent arrears, possession cases or tenancy sustainment, including liaising with landlords and financial institutions.
