The Role
As a Housing Assessor, you will deliver EPA and qualification-based assessment across Housing apprenticeships and qualifications at Levels 3–5.
Alongside assessment delivery, you will use your sector expertise to support assessment development, standardisation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering End-Point Assessment (EPA) and vocational qualification assessments across Housing Levels 3–5.
* Assessing assignments, case studies, professional discussions, observations, portfolios and knowledge-based assessments.
* Making fair, valid, reliable and evidence-based assessment decisions.
* Ensuring assessment decisions align with assessment plans, grading criteria and apprenticeship standards.
* Participating in standardisation and moderation activities to maintain consistency.
* Working closely with IQA and EQA colleagues to support quality and regulatory compliance.
* Maintaining accurate assessment records and reporting outcomes within required timescales.
* Acting as a Housing Subject Matter Expert, ensuring assessment reflects current industry practice.
* Keeping up to date with housing regulation, professional standards and sector developments.
* Contributing to the development and review of assessment materials, grading descriptors and guidance.
* Supporting the implementation of apprenticeship reforms and evolving assessment requirements.
* Working with Product Development to ensure assessments reflect occupational standards and employer expectations.
* Providing guidance to employers, providers, centres and delivery partners.
* Using assessment data, learner feedback and quality assurance findings to identify opportunities for improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Housing Assessor / EPA professional with strong occupational competence and a detailed understanding of apprenticeship assessment.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience delivering End-Point Assessment and/or vocational qualifications.
* Strong occupational competence and knowledge of Housing at Levels 3–5.
* In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship standards and assessment plans.
* Experience working within regulated assessment or qualification environments.
* Strong understanding of quality assurance, moderation and standardisation.
* The ability to make consistent, fair and evidence-based assessment decisions.
* Knowledge of current housing regulation, professional standards and sector practice.
* Understanding of apprenticeship reforms and their impact on assessment.
* Experience contributing to assessment materials, guidance or product development.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong attention to detail, integrity and professional judgement.
* The ability to collaborate effectively with Quality, Product Development, Operations and Partnerships teams.
