Join a leading Housing Association providing essential housing management support to vulnerable individuals and families across Sunderland. If you’re passionate about helping people sustain tenancies and improve their quality of life, this is the role for you. THE ROLE
As a Housing Management Worker, you’ll manage a caseload of around 25 service users, working independently in the community to ensure tenancies are successfully sustained and safe housing conditions are maintained.
Manage a caseload of approx. 25 tenancies across Sunderland
Support service users with housing benefit claims and access to external services
Conduct risk and needs assessments for vulnerable individuals and families
Issue tenancy agreements and explain obligations to new tenants
Ensure properties meet safety and habitability standards in collaboration with Asset Management
Monitor rent accounts, manage arrears, and maximise income collection
Lone working within the community with appropriate safety protocolsTHE CANDIDATE
We are looking for candidates with previous experience in housing management or similar roles supporting vulnerable service users. The successful candidate must have access to their own vehicle and business insurance.
Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, substance misuse, or complex housing histories
Knowledge of tenancy law, housing benefit systems, and safeguarding principles
Able to work independently and manage a diverse caseload
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
Must hold an Enhanced DBS for both Adults and ChildrenTHE CONTRACT
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week (35 paid), Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 3 Month Contract, with potential for extension
RATE: £17.00 per hour LTD / £14.59 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday)
