Housing Officer – Specialist Supported Accommodation (London & South East)
London & South East | 6-month temp (with view to permanent) | Field & flexible working
Are you an experienced Housing Officer passionate about making a difference in people’s lives?
We’re recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join a team managing specialist supported accommodation across London and the South East. This role offers a rewarding blend of tenant support, property management, and field flexibility.
About the Role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of 33 supported properties, visiting each approximately every two months. You’ll work closely with care providers to ensure tenants with additional needs receive the right support and that all housing management responsibilities are effectively delivered.
This is a hands-on, varied position that combines housing management, Housing Benefit administration, and tenancy compliance—ideal for someone who enjoys both autonomy and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a patch of specialist supported accommodation.
* Build strong relationships with care providers to support tenants effectively.
* Oversee and process Housing Benefit claims, ensuring accurate evidence submission.
* Monitor tenancy compliance, address ASB issues, and manage utilities.
* Maintain accurate housing records using the housing management system.
* Issue tenancy agreements and, when necessary, Section 21 notices.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Housing Officer or similar housing management role.
* Strong understanding of Housing Benefit processes.
* Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Confident managing data and using housing systems (Sassha experience desirable).
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
* Must hold or be willing to undertake a Basic DBS check.
