Job Description

We're recruiting an experienced and proactive Housing Officer to deliver high-quality tenancy and estate management services. This is a key role in ensuring sustainable tenancies, tackling tenancy breaches, and supporting residents to maintain safe and secure homes. The role requires you to be on site / in office 4 days a week. The Role ·Manage a caseload of tenancies, providing advice and support to residents to help them sustain their homes. ·Investigate and resolve tenancy management issues including anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes, harassment, and breaches of tenancy conditions. ·Carry out estate inspections and tenancy audits, identifying and resolving health, safety, and environmental issues. ·Act as the main point of contact for tenants and leaseholders, delivering a customer-focused service. ·Work with partners, contractors, and internal teams to resolve tenancy and estate-related issues quickly and effectively. ·Ensure records are accurate, accessible, and kept up to date in line with policies and procedures. ·Support new tenants during sign-ups, providing advice and signposting to other support services as needed. ·Manage mutual exchanges, successions, and tenancy changes in accordance with housing law and policy. ·Liaise with tenancy support officers and team leaders on complex or sensitive cases. ·Contribute to performance monitoring by maintaining accurate statistical information and ensuring service targets are met. Key Requirements ·Previous experience in housing management within a local authority, housing association, or similar environment. ·Strong knowledge of tenancy and landlord legislation, including dealing with ASB and tenancy breaches. ·Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of residents and stakeholders. ·Experience of working collaboratively across teams and external agencies. ·Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. ·Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends to attend resident meetings. ·A driving licence and access to a vehicle (or alternative transport arrangements) desirable.
