Job Description
We are seeking a Housing Options Officer to join our dedicated Housing Options, Homelessness, and Prevention team. In this vital role, you’ll support vulnerable residents — including families, children, and adults — helping them to secure and maintain safe, suitable accommodation.
Job Details:
* Catmose, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6HP
* 37 hours per week
* £16.00 per hour (umbrella)
* 4+ month contract
What you’ll do:
* Deliver a high-quality housing advice and triage service for those at risk of homelessness.
* Investigate and assess homelessness cases in line with legislation and statutory duties.
* Work closely with registered providers, landlords, and partner agencies to find housing solutions.
* Manage housing register applications and allocate vacancies according to the Allocations Policy.
* Support customers to keep existing accommodation and signpost to appropriate services.
* Assist with temporary accommodation arrangements, including budget and prevention fund management.

* Knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness prevention.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals and partner agencies.
* A commitment to safeguarding and delivering excellent customer service.
