Housing Strategy & Development Officer
Location: Wallfields, Hertford, SG13 8EQ
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 23.56 per hour

Responsibilities
Support the housing team with key strategy work, data reporting, and policy development.
Contribute to housing policy development and support strategic planning.
Help shape the delivery of housing services across the county.
Act as the first point of contact for developers, landowners, builders, registered providers, and other interested parties considering housing schemes and applications.
Provide advice on affordable housing policy requirements.
Manage the delivery of new affordable housing in the district.
Negotiate affordable housing on new sites.
Compile planning consultation responses and provide pre-application advice.
Liaise directly with Planning Services and land agents to ensure new sites contain the appropriate numbers and mix of affordable housing.
Person Specification
Proactive and experienced individual with a strong understanding of housing policy.
Confident working with Excel and skilled in data analysis.
Experienced with HCLIC and other data submissions.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
Use of Locata housing systems is desirable.
