Young People Support Worker (Housing Support Worker) Housing Provider | Supported Living Hereford Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm Excellent Pay Rate Β£13.71 PAYE OR Β£18.00 Umbrella Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve independence and reach their full potential? Client Snapshot An excellent opportunity has become available with a well-established housing provider delivering supported housing and tenancy sustainment services across the UK. With a large portfolio of supported living projects, my client provides high-quality housing management and support services to vulnerable individuals and young people. Vacancy Brief * Young People Support Worker vacancy * Initially a 3-month interim contract with the potential for an extension. * Full-time position – 35 hours per week * Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm * Β£13.71 per hour PAYE or Β£18.00 per hour Umbrella * Based in Hereford (You will be managing your own diary) * An Enhanced DBS covering both Child and Adult Workforce is required for this position * Work-related mileage will be paid at 55p per mile. * A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and valid business insurance are required. The Role You will support young people living in supported accommodation, helping them develop the practical skills, confidence and resilience needed to move towards independent living. You will manage your own diary in accordance with the needs of the service and the young people you support. Key Responsibilities As a Young People Support Worker, you will: * Support young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, managing household bills, maximising income, and accessing appropriate benefits and debt advice. * Assist young people in securing and maintaining suitable accommodation and provide support where there is a risk of homelessness. * Manage a caseload, carrying out assessments, developing support plans, and delivering tailored support interventions. * Encourage engagement with education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities. * Support individuals to build positive relationships within their communities and address issues relating to anti-social behaviour or tenancy sustainment. * Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes through person-centred support. What We're Looking For We would like to hear from candidates who have: * Experience supporting young people, vulnerable adults or individuals within residential care, supported housing or community services. * The ability to engage young people and build positive, professional relationships. * An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support. * Experience maintaining accurate records and contributing to support plans or risk assessments. * Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills. * The confidence to work independently and manage competing priorities. * A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. * An Enhanced DBS covering both the Child and Adult Workforce. Direct housing experience would be beneficial, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with transferable experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals.
