Job Title: HR Advisor Location: Hybrid, Farnborough (2-3 days in office/on site) Salary: Competitive with performance based bonus Job type: Permanent, Full Time Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday Who are we: rpc, The Retail Performance Company, is a consultancy supporting the full journey towards customer-oriented transformation, from customer-centric strategy and customer experience design to data analytics, people empowerment and performance management. Key responsibilities: Support the day-to-day delivery of HR operations across the UK and Ireland, covering the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to employee changes, absence, development, probation and offboarding. Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers, providing clear and timely guidance on routine HR policies, procedures and employee-related processes. Take ownership of routine HR matters within established company policies and processes, using sound judgement to recognise when complex, sensitive or formal matters require escalation. Coordinate recruitment activities across the UK business, working closely with hiring managers to support vacancy management, candidate screening, interview coordination, candidate communication and offer administration. Support a positive candidate and new starter experience by coordinating onboarding from offer acceptance through to joining, induction and probation. Support employees and managers with routine absence and sickness processes, ensuring company procedures are followed consistently, and relevant records are maintained accurately. Coordinate and support performance and development processes, including probation reviews, Performance Development Reviews, and Personal Development Plans. Support the smooth and professional offboarding of employees, ensuring relevant HR records, systems, payroll information, and documentation are updated appropriately. Maintain accurate and reliable employee data across HR systems, including Personio and SAP, with a strong focus on data quality, confidentiality, and compliance. Ensure HR documentation and employee information are managed securely and in accordance with internal procedures and data protection requirements. Coordinate the monthly payroll with the company's UK accountants, ensuring accurate and timely employee information is provided; queries are followed through, and relevant changes are appropriately recorded. Work collaboratively with line managers, the Operations Manager, the rpc HQ HR Team, UK accountants and hr inspire to ensure employee lifecycle processes are completed accurately and efficiently. Contribute to wider HR and People initiatives, including the development of UK and Ireland HR processes, the rpc career model and employee experience improvements. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, documentation, and ways of working to increase efficiency and consistency. Build effective working relationships with employees, managers, senior stakeholders, rpc HQ and external partners across the business. Operate with a high level of organisation, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Manage routine HR activities independently while escalating formal employee relations matters, complex absence cases, disciplinary or grievance issues, contractual concerns and other higher-risk matters to the appropriate HR specialist or senior stakeholder.Person specification: Experience and knowledge: Relevant practical experience in HR administration, HR operations, People Operations, or a comparable HR role. A working understanding of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, absence, probation, performance processes and offboarding. Working knowledge of UK HR practices and employment processes, with the ability to apply company policies appropriately and recognise when specialist advice is required. Experience of payroll coordination or providing accurate monthly payroll changes and information would be advantageous. CIPD Level 3 qualification is desirable.Skills and behaviours: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities, priorities, and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with employee information, contracts, payroll data, and HR documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating with employees, managers, candidates, and external partners at different levels. Sound judgement and the ability to distinguish between routine HR matters and issues requiring escalation. A professional, approachable, and service-focused manner. The ability to take ownership of tasks and follow them through completion. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across different functions, locations, and cultures. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately.
