Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experenced HR Consultant to join Rotherham Council's Waste Management Team on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Role Purpose
Provide hands-on HR support during a period of organisational change. Focus areas include employee relations, absence management, disciplinary and grievance cases, and supporting operational managers across the Waste Management service.
Key Responsibilities

Manage 5–7 active ER cases
*
Advise on policy, compliance, and restructures
*
Reduce absence rates through OH and manager support
*
Engage with trade unions and resolve formal grievances
*
Help embed cultural and workforce changes
Candidate Profile
*
Strong background in employee relations and casework
*
Confident advising managers and working independently
*
Experience in local government or union environments (desirable)
*
Ready to hit the ground running
