Role Overview
We are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to work across our Production, Technical, and Manufacturing Engineering teams. This person will help make sure our designs can be built safely, and that our factory teams are working in a safe and compliant way.
They’ll carry out regular safety checks on the shop floor, support teams with safe ways of working, and give advice on materials or processes that may carry risk. They will also help with planning for site changes, managing outside contractors on-site, and working closely with our parent group’s H&S team to stay aligned with wider company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Production Safety
* Review design ideas and material choices to spot any health and safety risks.
* Work alongside CAD, Technical and Engineering to support safe product build.
* Help teams plan and manage risk early in the process.
Factory Floor Audits
* Carry out regular H&S inspections and walkarounds in the factory.
* Work with managers and team leaders to fix issues and improve safety culture.
* Follow up on any risks or problems and make sure actions are taken.
Purchasing and Materials Input
* Highlight risks linked to materials, tools or equipment being introduced.
* Work with Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering to avoid safety problems.
Facilities and Contractors
* Help with H&S planning for equipment installs or layout changes.
* Support the safe management of contractors working on-site.
* Assist with general site H&S and facility checks as needed.
Documentation and Training
* Keep health and safety documents and risk assessments up to date.
* Support toolbox talks and help brief teams on safety topics.
* Log and help review near misses or incidents where needed.
Working With Group H&S
* Liaise with the parent company’s H&S team to stay in line with company-wide practices.
* Share information and updates between site and group H&S.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
* Health & safety experience in a manufacturing, engineering or technical setting.
* Good working knowledge of UK H&S law and safety practices.
* Able to understand technical documents, layouts, and safety risks.
Soft Skills
* Comfortable speaking up and supporting others on safety topics.
* Collaborative and supportive – works well across teams.
* Well-organised and reliable with a practical mindset.
* Able to move between the office and factory floor with ease.
