Job Title: HSE Manager - Avonmouth Docks
Location: Avonmouth Docks
Rate: Negotiable (dependent on experience)
Contract: Initial 12 weeks, with potential for long-term work
Hours: Approx. 10 hours per day
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
LRL are currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Manager to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental operations on a new build project at Shotton Paper Mill. Our client is a leading international company with a proven track record in delivering complex industrial projects.
This role is ideally suited to an HSE professional with strong experience in heavy crane operations and complex construction environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with site HSE plans, subcontractor management, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the site HSE plan is followed and kept up to date.
Monitor and enforce compliance of all subcontractors on site.
Conduct site inductions and deliver toolbox talks.
Assist in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders regarding HSE practices and requirements.
Carry out daily site inspections and audits to maintain high standards of safety.
Support and advise site management teams on best HSE practice.
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience as an HSE Manager on major industrial or construction projects.
Strong background in heavy crane operations and related safety management.
Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation and compliance requirements.
Ability to manage subcontractors effectively and drive high standards across site teams.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent).
