About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join a growing manufacturing business in South Yorkshire. This is a key leadership role, responsible for developing, implementing, and driving a strong HSE culture across the site while ensuring full compliance with legislation and best practice. You’ll play a vital part in supporting a fast-paced manufacturing and fulfilment operation, building effective systems, leading audits, and embedding safety-first behaviours at all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust HSE management system in line with legislation and business requirements, while embedding a positive safety and environmental culture across the site. You will establish and manage policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance, as well as investigate and report accidents, incidents and near misses to drive preventative action and continuous improvement.
You will act as the main contact for the HSE Executive and Environmental Agency, deliver and oversee risk assessments and safe systems of work and provide reporting and KPI tracking to the leadership team. Leading both internal and external audits will form a key part of the role, ensuring standards are maintained and enhanced. You will also work closely with training teams to deliver compliance training across the business.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and resilient HSE professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will bring at least three years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, hold a NEBOSH certificate or Diploma and have expert knowledge of HSE best practice and current legislation. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proven experience in managing audits, compliance processes and risk assessments. You should be results-driven, organised, and comfortable influencing at all levels of the business.
