HSE Officer – Solar (Contract – Outside IR35)
Location: Limerick (Site-Based – 5 days per week)
Start Date: Immediate / Within 1–2 weeks
Duration: 4–5 Month Contract
Rate: Competitive (DOE)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer to provide on-site health, safety, and environmental oversight for the construction of a 50MW Solar Farm in Limerick.
This role offers the opportunity to support a major renewable energy project during a critical phase of delivery, ensuring full compliance with all safety standards, procedures, and statutory requirements.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment across the site, coordinating with contractors, project managers, and the wider delivery team to embed best-in-class HSE practices.
Responsibilities
*
Lead day-to-day HSE management across the 50MW solar construction site.
*
Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
*
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, Irish regulations, and industry standards.
*
Review and approve RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments.
*
Report incidents, near misses, and corrective actions, ensuring follow-through with stakeholders.
*
Support contractor management and ensure safe systems of work across all activities.
*
Maintain accurate documentation, HSE reporting, and daily records.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an HSE Officer / HSE Advisor on renewable energy or construction projects (solar preferred).
*
Strong working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and on-site best practices.
*
Experience reviewing and managing RAMS, method statements, and safety documentation.
*
Confident leading site-based HSE activities, engaging with contractors and project teams.
*
Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH / IOSH or Irish equivalent).
*
Ability to work full-time on site, Monday–Friday in Limerick.
